Lesson planning often feels like a mad scramble, even if you have been in the classroom for decades.
You sit down with the best of intentions… and next thing you know, you’re googling activities five minutes before the lesson begins.
It’s not because teachers don’t care — we care a lot. It’s just that schools aren’t adequately resourced to give us the time and headspace to plan properly. You’re juggling so much every day that planning becomes something you fit in, not something you get to do well.
The Problem Isn’t You — It’s how we plan
Most ways we plan for our lessons don’t work well. They’re either too detailed to be useful in a rush, or too vague to be useful at all. You’re trying to tick boxes and be creative, and differentiate, and make it engaging — all under serious time pressure.
So we do what we have to do. We cut corners, we recycle lessons, we fly by the seat of our pants. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
And when it doesn’t, it’s we feel like we have failed.
So What Does Good Planning Actually Look Like?
Great lesson planning should empower you to walk into class knowing you have it sorted. It definitely isn’t box ticking:
You know what the students need to learn.
You’ve got a structure to make it flow.
You’ve planned how to check if it’s working.
You can easily evaluate and iterate on the lesson for next time
And you’ve got time to breathe while doing it.
When i’ve had great lessons planned for my classes, I hop out of bed in the morning excited for the day ahead. This is how it should be, every day!
That’s Where Planuva Comes In
We built Planuva because we wanted to make lesson planning something teachers could actually enjoy again.
It’s fast, flexible, and designed around how teachers really work in schools. With Planuva, you can plan lessons that hit the mark without spending your Sunday doing it.
And because everything’s in one place, it’s easy to review how a lesson went and improve it for next time. No more digging through old files or starting from scratch — just refine, adjust, and keep getting better.
That’s how good lessons turn into great ones - small, continuous improvements that add up over time.
If you’re tired of feeling behind, or just want to feel more confident in front of the class — we’d love you to join us.
